Nanny Health Insurance Information

Find Health Insurance for Your Nanny Now

We recommend that every employer provide or contribute to health insurance for their nanny.  We know this is an expensive undertaking.  However, we feel the benefits far outweigh the costs.  Why?  First, your nanny needs health insurance and if you don’t provide it, there’s a good chance she’ll go without it.  Or be forced to choose less than quality coverage to keep it affordable.  As a nanny, she is exposed to more than her share of everyday germs.  Hugs and kisses are a part of her job description.  She should not have to worry that if she comes down with the bug making its way through your child’s school or playgroup that she will have to shoulder the high cost of medical care.

Second, it is a good business decision on your part.   A nanny able to visit a doctor and afford needed prescriptions will stay healthier and miss less work.  Also, including health coverage in your benefit package makes you a more attractive employer.  Quality caregivers know they can find a position that offers full benefits, including insurance.  Many are not willing to settle for less.  An employer that offers fully or partially paid health insurance also shows her nanny that she recognizes her as a professional and values the job she does.  On top of all this, the cost of health insurance is exempt from taxes.
