Leadership Forum Resource Library

 

Our Support Group Leadership Forum is designed to help the leaders and organizers of local support groups start, grow and guide their groups.  The Forum provides a variety of support and educational resources through email classes, teleclasses, an email group, resource library and newsletter article library.  Our resources are tailored to the specific needs of our members and may include the financial ins and outs of starting a group, writing a press release, planning a social event, advertising your playgroup, etc.  If you have a particular topic you’d like to see covered, let us know.

 

To join, you must meet certain requirements.

 

1.  You must be involved in the leadership of a support group or starting a support group.  We use the term “support group” to define any group of in-home caregivers that gather together for a shared purpose.  That purpose may be a social event, an educational program, a volunteer project, a playgroup, etc.  We recognize that every group is different and believe that every type of group provides a valuable service to their local nanny community.  All groups are equally supported within the Forum. 

 

2.  All groups and their leaders must be independent of a placement agency or similar business interest.  The Forum encourages groups to work closely with local placement agencies because they are a great source of financial support and nanny infusion.   However, to truly meet the needs of its nanny members, a group must be free to work with all agencies in the area, not just one sponsoring or affiliated agency. 

 

3.  All members must embrace the sprit of the Forum which is one of support and sharing.  Each participant must be willing to share her experience, ideas, and resources with other members.
